The Ask
A complete kitchen remodel designed to preserve the home’s character and charm while significantly enhancing functionality and style. Key goals included a more efficient layout centered around a single large island, ample gathering space, and thoughtfully integrated storage for both kitchen essentials and family needs, along with a dedicated coffee bar. Aesthetically, the vision was a modern yet comfortable space defined by light neutrals, earthy tones, and the prominent use of stone throughout the design.
The Result
The result is a thoughtfully designed space that seamlessly balances functionality and aesthetics while honoring the home’s original character. A layered palette of natural tones and textures—stone, wood, and plaster—creates a warm, sophisticated atmosphere, enhanced by modern features that support everyday living.
The hearth area has become a refined focal point, opening the space to the kitchen and creating an inviting sense of flow. A large dining and prep island anchors the room, while a luxury built-in appliance garage discreetly houses a coffee bar with a pot filler. A spacious pantry and an expertly organized mudroom with custom cubbies and coat hooks further elevate the home’s functionality. Individually designed cabinetry, blending wood and metal, unifies the space, while the prominent use of stone lends a modern yet timeless appeal. Stone Hearth truly bespeaks functionality and charm.
